Saola Working Group

Group email: saolawg@gmail.com
Committee: Bill Robichaud, Simon Hedges and Barney Long.

The recently established Saola Working Group (SWG), originated from the recognition by several Saola researchers and conservationists of the need to foster exchange of information on Saola, standardize research on the species, and in general provide mutual support to each others' Saola conservation efforts. The group was born from a side meeting at the 2004 IUCN World Conservation Congress in Bangkok. It presently has about twenty members, based mainly in Lao PDR and Vietnam.

Mission Statement: "The Saola Working Group seeks to advance conservation of the saola in nature through an exchange of information, ideas and encouragement, and the collaborative promotion of sound research and priority conservation actions".
