National and Regional Conservation Planning
We promote and coordinate Participatory Conservation Planning Workshops to identify priority actions for Asian wild cattle species. Representatives of governments, universities and research institutes, NGOs and other conservation organisations come together to assess the status of these species and to discuss how threats to their survival might be reduced. A comprehensive series of conservation actions are identified and endorsed by workshop participants for inclusion in a Conservation Strategy or Action Plan.
These workshops are conducted at the regional as well as the national level. Regional workshops help ensure that populations and actions are prioritised across multiple range states, and National workshops allow a representative range of stakeholders from each country to plan more detailed national level actions.
We follow the IUCN SSC Guidelines for Species Conservation Planning.
