Activities
- Update the IUCN Red List entries for all the Asian wild cattle and buffalo species (every April).
- We are in the process of planning and fundraising for a South Asia Regional Strategic Conservation Planning Workshop.
- Publish and begin implementation of the Saola Conservation Strategy
- Publish and begin implementation of the Banteng National Action Plan in Indonesia with-in country partners
- Publish and begin implementation of the Anoa National Action Plan in Indonesia with-in country partners
- To co-facilitate a Tamaraw National Planning Workshop in the Philippines, and produce the subsequent National Action Plan.
- Implementation of the Indonesian National Species action Plans for Anoa, Babirusa and Banteng: In May 2009 over 100 stakeholders attended two workshops in Manado and Bogor, Indonesia to collate status information and identify the actions required to save the Anoa, Babyrousa, and Banteng from further decline. To begin implementation of the important actions identified during the meetings, below is a list of Concept Notes of these actions for which the stakeholders are looking for support (both expertise and funds) in order to begin implementation of these, the highest priority activities.
